On its 21st edition, Black Hat USA has brought together, once again, the whole global IT Security community in one place. As always, this three-day Training event, plus two days of conferences, took place in Las Vegas and we at Infobyte were honored to participate for the second time in a row, representing the Argentine companies.
The local market has an increasingly evident need to generate greater awareness about the creation and investment in a robust and efficient security infrastructure. With this in mind, we chose to share our experience to inspire and help generate this development in the region.
Based on our vision of previous years and our current objectives to keep presenting and expanding the development of our work in Faraday, the leading platform in risk and vulnerability management, this year we focused on creating a stand that would represent our values and differentiating points when it comes to offering a product that empowers and benefits the entire community (from beginners to professionals), through a tool that considerably reduces the time dedicated to each phase of your security projects.
To achieve this, members of each area of our team were present: Francisco Amato (CEO), Federico Kirschbaum (CTO) and Martin Tartarelli (COO) who were in charge of sharing the general vision that we cultivate daily within our team. Gabriel Franco, member of our Red Team area and Leonardo Lazzaro, the main developer of the platform participated by responding to technical questions that the demos shared during the event generated. In turn, we were joined by Joshua Mador and Sebastian Encinas, our representatives of the Sales and Post Sales areas.
This way, we had the opportunity to respond to any query and specific requirement about the product, from the architecture of the platform to the basic philosophy with which it was initially created (make pentesting a collaborative work) and moved forward from.
Black Hat and Defcon have acquired an undeniable strength as places of networking, training and commercial development through the years. Here, despite their different profiles (Black Hat is focused mostly on business, while Defcon encourages community and enjoyment), the first one had over 17000 attendees this year, while the latter reached more than 25000 people: a number that, surely, Jeff Moss (founder of both events) never foresaw in that farewell turned meet-up from 1992 which, in time, would be the first Defcon.
Even being at Las Vegas it's hard to feel far from home with so many familiar faces. Creating relationships with people makes these spaces the best meeting place to achieve both business and team goals ... And if you ask us, this the true definition of one of the pillars of an awesome security community.
